Photo use

February 18, 2007 1 comment

Lisa spotted the Greenies using one of my photos in a political statment. They’ve credited the use, which is ok. I’d have preferred a link to plain text, but no big deal. The photo was taken at the new Maryborough Educational Precinct when they had their open day early of last year.

I don’t always agree with everything the greenies say, but their stance on water in this statement seems pretty sensible. Happy for my photo to be there. :-)

London

February 18, 2007 Comments off

Still alive and well. I’ve spent the weekend in London; I fly out to San Francisco in about 5 hours time. It’s early here (5:20am) and I’ve managed to luck onto a WIFI connection that someone near my Grandma’s very, very kindly left turned on, open and totally unsecured. How nice of them. :-)

Yesterday we went to Licoln, which is up in the midlands. One of my cousins (Scott) lives there, and another cousin (Sam) came over for the day too. We went to Licoln cathedral, which I won’t even try to describe. Just the most beautiful building; Scott said it’s one of the best in the country. Wandering through the market in the bail (the commerce/market area that’s inside the castle walls, but outside the castle itself) was excellent. Knowing that people have been holding markets in that same place that you’re walking for over 1000 years is a weird sensation when you come from a country where 100 years is old. This photo is of the roman arch in Licoln; it’s the oldest roman arch that still has traffic passing under it. Built 1800 years ago.

More from San Fancisco, because this is a very, very slow and dodgy connection.
