Redemption
Maybe.
Or maybe not.
(1) The Kid has been crook for the last day or two. There’s a bit of gastro going around and she’s had a mild dose of it. Doing ok.
(2) Lisa has done some baking today for the school principal meeting that The Kid’s school is hosting. She’s turned out some nice mini quiches.
(3) The Baby is doing great. Still sleeping through the night, which is great. She had her latest visit to the maternal health nurse yesterday and everything is spot on.
This is painful to watch.
Adelaide dropped a couple of classic mondegreens this week:
Mum, Dad, Kate and Grandma Elli came to visit today. We had a very simple lunch; home-made pizza followed by a simple pavlova and Lisa’s excellent Orange and Lime citrus cake. We did the usual stuff: took some food out to the chooks, walked around the back paddock a bit, then for something different we played a game of backyard cricket (in the front yard). Gallery here.
I like today’s Einstein Quote of the Day:
Computers are incredibly fast, accurate and stupid. Human beings are incredibly slow, inaccurate and brilliant. Together they are powerful beyond imagination.
I got a free block of chocolate today.
Safeway stuffed up their shelf labels and had one single label $0.20 lower than all the others. I guess they missed it when they rolled out the price rise. As soon as I saw that I knew I was heading for freebie. Sure enough, they rung the chocolate up at the higher price. I pointed out their error, and when the checkout lady went to adjust the bill for the lower price I pointed out that their scanning code of practice means that because it scanned higher than the shelf price it’s free. The lady said that it didn’t scan higher because the shelf labels showed the higher price, but when multiple prices are on display for the same product the lowest price wins, so a very short discussion later I left the supermarket with my gift.
Who said what?
