Lightroom rudeness
Adobe Photoshop Lightroom has become critical to my photography since I got the D80. It does so much stuff so well it’s indispensable. One thing it does, however, infuriates me. It steals focus. All the time. Any time it’s doing something (and sometimes when it’s idle) window focus is all screwed up. You cannot import photos in the background; every time Lightroom pulls in another photo it forces itself back into the foreground to show you the new photo. I don’t care. Just import the damn things; I’ll come back to you in a few minutes — I promise. Even when it’s running and is idle I’ll often Alt-Tab to another window only to have Lightroom still be focus window; I have to minimize Lightroom to get other windows to focus properly. End of rant.
Yes, that’s a reason why I like to go and have a cup of tea while LR is importing.
One further beef I have is that if it detects duplicate images it puts up a dialog box and waits for me to acknowledge rather than getting on with creating previews. That is a pain in the rear.
