Quick update
February 24, 2008
It’s been just over a week since my last blog post. Not much has happened… except…
- We’re all a bit crook right now. Lots of sniffles. I thought I’d escaped, but sadly not. I guess it’s just one of those back-to-school things; a whole new round of diseases hit the home.
- I did my first day’s work in the city office on Friday. Took the 5:50am bus from Maryborough to Castlemaine, changed onto the train, then did the reverse on the way home. It was a very relaxing day because I did no driving at all. There’s still talk of commuter trains coming back to Maryborough, but looking at how many people used the bus interchange I can see why they’re stalling. There were two people (yes, 2) on the bus from here to Castlemain and about 7 or 8 on the way back at night. Hardly a flood of people crying for the train to come back. Anyway, it was all a pretty easy day, and cost $31.60. Less than a city parking spot for the day.
- Haven’t had any time to do any photography lately at all. A few pictures in the city walking from the office to the train home, but hardly worth noting. It’s been a very lean period, unfortunately. Gotta lift my game there.
- SES training is going very well. I’ve passed the four basic core courses and I’m able to go out on the road in active duty albeit in a probationary role. Still lots more training to go. At least I’m officially on the books so I can get a uniform, safety gear, pager, etc.
