I was very late with my week 6 shot for the 2008 challenge. I’ve uploaded weeks 6 and 7 at the same time. Both are night shots of the sky at home. I’ve had so little time to get out and shoot lately, so I’ve had to make do with what I can grab from around here. Hopefully that will change over the next week or two.
We spent much of the past weekend in Melbourne. We visited Fred and Sue, then my parents, and swung home via Sunbury where we had a pizza with Les & Michelle. Both kids were in their pajamas before we got back in the car to head home, so all we had to do was lift them out and drop them into bed. A good weekend.

After dinner tonight I took The Kid to the velodrome to spend some time riding her bike.
We met a couple of her school classmates there, so the three of them had a great time. All three of them managed to crash as well, but no serious injuries. Just the stuff kids should do.
I’ve considered joining either the CFA or the SES for a while now. Both organizations do a great job for the community, especially in rural Victoria. I’ve chatted to people who are in both organizations and decided on the SES. Tonight was my first night, so it was all about admin and a light introduction to basic training. I’ve naturally got a way to go before I can be a productive and useful member of the unit, but the basic training is important, and everyone has to go through it. Having said that, when they found out I had komputer skillz their eyes lit up, so maybe I can help out in some way before I’m trained.
We had a trip to Ballarat this afternoon. A little bit of shopping, then we spent an hour at Fun Bugs, where both kids got to play. Big Kid had no trouble getting to sleep this evening. There’s a few shots on SmugMug.
The Kid had a flat tyre on her bike after our last trip to the velodrome. We fixed it today, and she took it for a test ride around the front yard. Apologies for the dreadful wind noise.
Who said what?
