Sickness all over

November 4, 2009

Three blog posts in one day! Aren’t you lucky? ;-)

Two of us are crook today.

  • Adelaide spent most of the night being violently ill. Poor kid has a terribly upset tummy. Lisa tells me she’s asleep now, but she had a pretty tough night.
  • I’m feeling like death warmed up with a combination of hay fever and a head cold.

Lisa is soldiering on as she always does. I suspect her arms are pretty sore though; she spent a bunch of time in the yard with our fabulous new Honda powered weed whacker cleaning up for the coming summer season.

And yes, I know I should have been out there doing it, but I was working inside the house on a few other equally important things. I did take a break from that and help her clean up inside the backyard. She’s done a great job though; the block looks great.

    Mr Morris;

    I thought it was a Japanese engine, the Honda gen II GX25 mini 4-stroke? I know Honda have some mower engines made in Thailand and China, but don’t know about the brushcutter.

    Ours is one of the Kaaz models. I looked at it in a Honda dealer. The dealer had the full range of the Kaaz models. Bunnings had only the 25cc model. Bunnings sell it for about $70 less than the dealer. Just depends where you want it serviced.

    Regardless of where the engine is made it worked a treat. Ours is recommended for large residential properties and small farms. I worked it pretty hard given we were way behind on our grass maintenance. It got two solid days of work and didn’t complain. I also found that the twine lasted a lot longer than that of our previous home line trimmer. The vibration and noise are minimal (sounds a bit like a mini bike) and it’s fairly light to carry. The bull handle is available for another $200 (or possibly less.) I didn’t mind the loop handle, I found it quite comfortable.

    Only side effect was a little bit of arm soreness after the first day, and a stone cut to the face when Andrew tried it out ;-)

    We’ve been told we’ll get a good 20 years out of it.

      Hey Lisa,

      thanks for that … Might go to Bunnings, seeing as we have a couple hundred dollars in Bunnings vouchers from the wedding, and prior…

      How are our wedding pics looking? :)

    is that the Honda with the Japanese engine on it? Looking for a brushcutter/petrol trimmer at the moment, and the Kaaz at Bunnings with the Honda on it is the Chinese engine…
